Course Name: MSTAR Academy I: Grades 5–6

Course Description: This self-paced training allows participants to examine the big ideas in the grades 5–6 mathematics TEKS concepts and learn strategies through the exploration of hands-on, student-centered lessons designed to provide connections to and strengthen participants' knowledge of College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS), English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), and Response to Intervention (RtI).

Prerequisites: The prerequisite for all online MSTAR Academy options is the MSTAR Introduction: An Executive Summary (click for prerequisite course description).

Intended Audience: Grades 5–6 math teachers, applicable special education and bilingual/ESL teachers, and coordinators/administrators who did not participate in face-to-face training offered at ESCs in Summer and Fall, 2010
