Course Name: MSTAR Academy I: Fraction/Decimal Relationships and Operations

Course Description: This course is a continuation of the content addressed in the MSTAR Academy I, Part A and presents participants with concepts related to fraction/decimal relationships and operations in order to identify the types of knowledge represented by various math activities and to analyze TAKS™ items through the eyes of English Language Learners (ELLs) for the purpose of making instructional decisions related to the RtI process.

Prerequisites:This course has two prerequisites:
  1. MSTAR Introduction: An Executive Summary (for participants who did not attend face-to-face MSTAR training and are completing all training via the online MSTAR courses)

  2. MSTAR Academy I: Grades 5–6

    MSTAR Academy I: Grades 7–8 (face-to-face or online)

Intended Audience: MSTAR Academy I grades 5–6 or 7–8 (face-to-face or online) participants only
