Course Name: TELLIT: Math Affective Learning Environment

Course Description: This course demonstrates how to address the affective needs of ELL students. Participants will view video segments of math teachers using effective strategies that demonstrate culturally responsive learning and physical environments. Participants will build a repertoire of instructional skills and resources as they examine key components of classroom communities designed to have a positive impact on students' cultural, social, and emotional needs.

Prerequisites: This course has no prerequisites. This course is one of the choices that MSTAR Academy participants may select when choosing four courses from the eight two-hour courses that are available online.

Intended Audience: Grades K–12 math teachers, applicable special education and bilingual/ESL teachers, and coordinators/administrators. This course meets online training requirements for MSTAR Academy grades 5–6 and 7–8 participants.
