Course Name: TELLIT: Math Cognitive Learning Environment
Course Description: This course demonstrates how to address the cognitive needs of ELL students. Participants will view video segments of math teachers using effective strategies that enhance math instruction and promote academic achievement for ELL students. Participants will build a repertoire of instructional skills and resources designed to have a positive impact on the progress and performance of their students.
Prerequisites: This course has no prerequisites. This course is one of the choices that MSTAR Academy participants may select when choosing four courses from the eight two-hour courses that are available online.
Intended Audience: Grades K–12 math teachers, applicable special education and bilingual/ESL teachers, and coordinators/administrators. This course meets online training requirements for MSTAR Academy grades 5–6 and 7–8 participants.
