Course Name: MSTAR Academy I: Lesson Study Model Implementation

Course Description: Participants in this couse will apply the MSTAR Lesson Study Model to plan, implement, analyze, and refine a middle school math lesson designed to prepare all students to succeed in algebra. Activities are based on knowledge gained from previously completed MSTAR Academy I courses. Learning artifacts from implementation of the MSTAR Lesson Study Model in this course will be used during participation in the MSTAR Academy I: Part B Completion session.

Prerequisites: (1) MSTAR Introduction: An Executive Summary (for participants who did not attend face-to-face MSTAR training and are completing all training via the online MSTAR courses) (2) MSTAR Academy I: Grades 5–6 or 7–8 (face-to-face or online).

Intended Audience: MSTAR Academy I grades 5–6 or 7–8 (face-to-face or online) participants only.
