Course Name: Expository Reading and Writing in High School Facilitated

Course Description: This facilitated course provides strategies to improve student reading comprehension and analytical writing skills. The state standards (ELAR TEKS, ELPS, and CCRS) provide a framework for designing effective instruction that prepares students for success in high school, college, and career. Participants will focus on classroom activities designed to increase student proficiency in reading and writing expository texts.

Prerequisites: none

Intended Audience: This course is open to English I, II, and III and
ESOL I and II teachers, applicable special education and ESL teachers,
and applicable administrators/coordinators.

Credits: CPE 18 hours
