Course Name: Facing History and Ourselves: An Introduction to the Holocaust and Human Behavior

Course description: 

The Texas Holocaust and Genocide Commission (THGC), established by Senate Bill 482 in 2009, has a mission to provide resources to students, educators, and the general public regarding the Holocaust and other genocides. Since its inception, the THGC has presented educator workshop opportunities throughout the state and now offers this digital workshop through Project Share. Developed by Facing History and Ourselves, the course addresses Social Studies TEKS standards regarding the Holocaust and genocides while also emphasizing the commission’s objective of imbuing in individuals a sense of responsibility to uphold human value. CPE credit is 6 hours.

Intended Audience: 

The course was designed for primarily secondary social studies teachers, but teachers of all content areas are invited to participate.
